Vanguard Ophthalmology Society

On February 20 and 21, Vanguard Ophthalmology Society held its 5th annual meeting in Palm Beach, Florida. During this two-day meeting, Vanguard members continued our tradition of strong intellectual, academic, and social interaction and exchange with fellow members as well as attendees from our industry sponsors, Valeant and TearLab. 

Our Friday evening reception saw the reunion of members new and old. There were many stimulating discussions about topics ranging from technology and innovation to clinical and surgical practice to administrative and business matters.

Vanguard Ophthalmology Society held its annual pre-AAO meeting on Thursday, October 16 at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, IL.  Vanguard members Elizabeth Yeu, Malik Kahook, Jai Parekh, Nathan Radcliffe, Brandon Ayres, and David Goldman gave presentations and led discussion on subjects ranging from astigmatic correction to glaucoma to ocular surface management.  Twenty-two members were in attendance, including new inductees, Gary Wortz and Jonathan Solomon.

VOS then participated in activities sponsored by TearScience and by Alcon.

New members:

On February 21 and 22, Vanguard Ophthalmology Society held its annual meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. Congregating for the first time in the West, this meeting reflected the diverse geographies represented by its members. With society members practicing in cities ranging from New York to LA and from Seattle to Miami, VOS members now officially cover the entire continental United States.

The Vanguard Ophthalmology held a planning meeting in New Orleans prior to the 2013 AAO Annual Meeting.  Business matters were discussed, including an annual recap, introduction of new members, and a review of society financials.

New members:
